Cookbook Desktop beta
The web app at cookbook.team is the full product and the way most people use Cookbook. The desktop app is a shell around it that keeps the Bridge running on this machine. It is in beta on both platforms; expect rough edges, and use the web whenever it is simpler.

Always on
Keeps running in the background after you close the window, and starts when you log in. To stop that, untick Start at login in its menu bar or tray icon.
Tiny + instant
A native shell over the live app. Everything the web does, plus a tray icon and the Bridge.
Installing on macOS
- Open Cookbook.dmg and drag Cookbook to Applications, then open it from there. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so there is no security warning to click through.
- Sign in, then click Authorize on the page the app opens. That connects this Mac to your account.
- Open Connect. Under "Your setup on this computer", the buttons install and sign in Claude Code and Codex if they are missing (ones you already have are left as they are). Then press "Connect all" and approve once more.
- Cookbook starts when you log in and stays in the menu bar after you close the window, so your agents can take work. Untick Start at login in its menu bar icon to stop that.
